چکیده

Semantic descriptions provide more accurate information related to operations supported by Web services, enabling their dynamic discovery and execution without human intervention. Furthermore, semantic descriptions allow Web services to be automatically combined by using discovery mechanisms able to identify composed services. These compositions can also be described and published as if they were a single service, allowing service consumers to discover and invoke a composition transparently. This paper presents a platform for automatic discovery and execution of semantic Web services compositions. A composer mechanism identifies semantic Web services compositions based on the information annotated on service descriptions using SAWSDL (Semantic Annotations for WSDL). The identified service compositions are described and published as a single service. The interaction among services is described using WS-BPEL (Web Services Business Process Execution Language) and executed by a

A Method for Semantically Enhancing the Service Discovery Capabilities of UDDI

The promise of dynamic selection of business services and automatic integration of applications written to Web Services standards is yet to be realized. This is partially attributable to the lack of semantics in the current Web Service standards. While efforts to develop markup languages , such as DAML-S, for semantic Web Services are a step in the right direction, more work needs to be done to...

Enabling Components Management and Dynamic Execution Semantic in WSMX

The Web Service Modelling Execution Environment is a platform for dynamic discovery, mediation and invocation of Semantic Web Services. We believe that Semantic Web Services systems should support a dynamic execution semantics, i.e., a system run-time deployable formal definition of the system behavior, which can be executed against components that are available for this system. In this paper w...

Towards Semantic Composition of Geospatial Web Services – Using WSMO instead of BPEL

Geospatial Web Services (GWS) provide access to geospatial data and expose basic processing functionality using Web Service technology. The complexity of geo-processing tasks necessitates the discovery of basic Web Services and their combination to user-oriented and application-specific service compositions. Semantic heterogeneity has been identified as a core problem that hinders the full expl...

Towards integration of business processes and semantic web services

Business processes are modeled as syntax based compositions of multiple services to perform tasks that a single Web service alone can not perform. When these processes are exported as services they have same syntactical limitations as traditional WSDL services resulting in clampdown for their dynamic discovery, invocation and composition by other semantic enabled systems. iPlant SSWAP (Simple Semantic Web Architecture and Protocol) enables semantic pipelines for biodiversity

Real-time response is a basic characteristic of the Web. Yet semantic reasoning at transaction-time supporting real-time response remains challenging. Here we report how the iPlant Semantic Web Platform uses SSWAP (Simple Semantic Web Architecture and Protocol; http://sswap.info) for transaction-time reasoning, service discovery, workflow construction, and execution. The platform enables users ...
